As people may have seen, there are companies that are selling products that claim to block photos of license plates. However, all tested were either illegally obstructing the plate from law enforcement by using something that looks like mirrored tint over plastic. Some are selling clear plastic lenses that you can see from any angle but they claim that from above the camera can't see it. These sell for $30.00 to $50.00 U.S. and do not work.

 

Another tested product is a spray supposedly containing a "photonic rare earth polymer". It is actually a clear liquid that contains a large amount of alcohol. It feels and smells like hair spray and is clear in color. It has no effect on blocking a license plate from photo radar.  Remember, photo radar uses infra-red technology which is not affected by reflection or flashback.
